Precision in Every Piece
About Valley Machine Tool
Founded in 1967, Valley Machine Tool’s roots are traced back to the humble beginnings of the
Wilson Farm. The Father and Son team of Clarence and Larry Wilson began a small tool and die shop run
out of their chicken house. At the time, Clarence worked as a foreman for GE and Larry was a machine
builder for Milacron, who had come up through their Machinist apprenticeship program. Over the next
couple of years, they slowly grew the company, until in 1969, Larry left his job as a machine builder to go
into the business Full time.
Valley Machine Tool began to grow and expand and they transitioned from a tool and die shop
to a custom job shop. They grew out of the chicken house as they began to build the reputation of being
a dependable supplier of high-quality Precision Parts. In the late 1970s, Larry’s brother Roger joined the
company and together they continued to build upon the foundation of success laid down by their father
well into the 1990s and early 2000s
Today, VMT continues to thrive under the management of 3 rd generation owner Doug Wilson,
Larry’s son. Doug has worked in the family business since the early 1980s. He served under his father as
a machinist for 17 years and then as the plant Manager for 9 years. In 2011 he stepped into his father’s
role and took full ownership of the company. Under his Leadership VMT has continued to grow, firmly
establishing its connection and commitment with existing customers while initiating and developing
relationships with new customers across a myriad of industries worldwide.
As Valley Machine Tool prepares to advance to the next generation, we are committed to
